This is Jess Catcher, an Oklahoma resident. She has been a vegetarian for 16 years. However, one day, Jess decided to do a little experiment with her vegetarian diet.
Jess decided to eat nothing but meat for seven days in a row. That would be the first time she would eat meat after being 16 years a vegetarian.
This is Jess’ journey as a carnivore:
Day 1 – Bacon
Jess had a hard time eating bacon for the first time in 16 years. She states she liked the tomatoes and lettuce that came along bacon more than bacon itself.
Day 2 – Chorizo Tacos and Barbacoa
The second day of being a carnivore was enjoyable to Jess. She enjoyed the spicy chorizo. She admitted that she felt a little bit queasy after eating chorizo but the feeling vanished quickly.
Day 3 – Brisket, BBQ Ribs, and Chicken
Her friends had to help her with this barbecue plate as she couldn’t eat it all by herself.
Day 4 – Waffles and Chicken
This was the first day Jenn didn’t feel queasy for eating meat. She actually enjoyed that chicken.
Day 5 – Lamb and Rice
She felt sorry for the little lamb that had to be killed so this meal could be made. However, Jess enjoyed every single bite of this Lamb over Rice dish.
Day 6 – Buffalo Chicken Wings
She loved the taste of those buffalo chicken wings, but she hated the fact that she had to eat around the bone!
Day 7 – Hot Dog and Hamburger
It seems that Jess couldn’t wait for the last day of her meat diet to end because she only ate a bite of that hamburger.
When it comes to the hot dog, she ate it whole, but she still liked the salad in it more than the hot dog itself.
This is how Jess’ body reacted to her carnivore diet:
Jesse claims the perils of acne aren’t strange to her but that this was the worst adult acne breakout she experienced in life. She believes this acne was a consequence of her 7-day meat diet.
Jess’ final thoughts:
“I really didn’t hate the experience, but it was a lot to cram in just a week’s worth of time. I felt like I had to try every single possible dish that regular meat eaters rave about, which was definitely overwhelming.
I might eat meat again in the future, but probably not any time soon. I’m sure I would feel the same way if I restricted myself to just three different types of vegetables for an entire week, too.
I’m really surprised by my favorite meals from the week: chorizo, deep-fried chicken, and lamb over rice. The lamb especially took me by surprise. I have to admit that there’s really no fake meat that could ever get close to that delicious flavor.”
